On behalf of the members of the Planning Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 11th Asian American Festival, which will be held from May 18 – 22, 2009, at the Richard J. Daley Center Plaza. The celebration is also in line with the Asian American Pacific Heritage Month, in accordance with Public Law 102-450, passed by Congress and signed by President George Bush in October 1992.

This year’s event will be hosted by the Filipino American Community in cooperation with its co-sponsoring organization, the Philippine American Cultural Foundation, a 501 (C) 3 organization. The host committee selected the theme “ Asia Adventure: Sights, Sounds, and Strength." Join us and watch the colorful display of our cultural and musical performances and listen to the wonderful sounds of our native instruments and songs. While at the festival enjoy the taste of a wide variety of Asian Cuisine, look around and shop at the number of product vendors, offering unique and exotic merchandise at very reasonable price. Learn more about our community, our people, our country, and our heritage by making a stop at our community booth, which will have informational brochures.

We are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival. We plan to make this a special and memorable event for all participants, most especially for those who have been our consistent supporter through the years.

Please mark your calendars and join us and celebrate our pride and honor as ASIANS.
